Anticipate A Victory
This past month one of Awaken the Nation’s co-founders, Jeff, was doing an Instagram live series on anxiety, the feeling doesn’t discriminate. Whether anxiety is caused by something minor or major in life, we all can agree we’d feel better off without it.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines anxiety as an "apprehensive uneasiness or nervousness usually over an impending or anticipated ill.” Instead of anticipating ill in our lives, what if we anticipated the victories that Christ has for us through Him?
Romans 8:28 states, “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose.” This means that even the events in our lives that bring about feelings of anxiety will eventually work together for our good and for the good of the Kingdom of God. When the spirit of anxiety feels so big in our lives may we take a step back, take a breath and remember that our Father is the Prince of Peace.
This is easier said than done. I pray that those experiencing anxiety will accept God’s invitation to surrender and trust that the Lord will provide. Even though the world is broken, He is nearest to the brokenhearted.
