Kindness Has The Power To Soften Hearts

Devo Written By Samantha Papp Wilson

Fruit of the Spirit Series - Kindness

Focus Verse

“Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

Ephesians 4:32 (NIV)

Devotional

Kindness often shows up in small, quiet ways. A gentle word, a patient response, or a moment of understanding can make a greater impact than we realize. In a world that can feel sharp and hurried, kindness has the power to soften hearts, including our own.

God calls us to kindness not because it is easy, but because it reflects His character. He meets us with compassion again and again, even when we fall short. When we choose kindness, we are choosing to mirror the grace we have already received.

There will be moments when kindness feels undeserved or inconvenient. Those moments matter most. They remind us that kindness is not about how others act, but about who we are becoming in Christ. Each small act is a seed planted, often bearing fruit we may never see.

Prayer

Lord, help me to walk in kindness today. Let my words be gentle, my actions thoughtful, and my heart open to others. Teach me to show the same compassion You have shown me. Amen.
