Fruit of the Spirit Series - Kindness

Focus Verse: 

EPHESIANS 4:32 - BE KIND AND COMPASSIONATE TO ONE ANOTHER, FORGIVING EACH OTHER, JUST AS IN CHRIST GOD FORGAVE YOU. 

Devotional: 

Have you ever been confronted with someone who spoke ill of you?  Have you been accused of things you did not do?  Have you been under attack with derogatory comments as well as unkind words being said about you or other people in your life?  Has the core of your soul been affected?  Have you become angry? Did you want to retaliate with hurtful words as the person had done?  If this has happened to you, first and foremost, pray, then be still and listen.  Do not let Satan win by retaliating with hurtful words.  I have found that words of kindness and understanding outweigh and overcome the darkness of the comments.   Light always prevails over darkness.   I pray that all will understand the importance of the tongue and words we use.  The tongue really is a double edge sword. 

Proverbs 18:21 

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who live it will eat its fruit. 

Therefore, let us all think before we confront someone with words of malice and hate.  Let us respond with love, compassion, kindness, truth, and forgiveness.
