A Cheerful Heart

Let’s break down Proverbs 17:22 a little:

A cheerful heart – a heart full of joy and happiness
Good medicine – healing
Crushed spirit – grief, discouragement
Dries up the bones – emotional and possible physical harm

As I look at this verse I have made the decision that I want a cheerful heart, I not only want it, but that I need it. So, I go to God because I know pure joy comes from my Lord and Savior. I can say this
because I have experienced it, if only for a few brief moments. When the Lords joy came upon me, I had
pure happiness within me. I felt incredible peace and love deep down inside me. I was also laughing,
smiling, dancing, singing and praising as though no one was watching, (I must say no physical human
being was watching) if they were, they would have thought I was crazy. It didn’t matter, this feeling was
beyond beautiful and I went with it. My hope and prayer is that each and every one of you experience
this type of joy at least once in your life. If you do, I know your goal would be to strive for that joy
everyday of your life.

One thing I have learned is to trust the Word of God. This world throws a lot at us every day. Don’t let
these worldly influences affect your relationship with the Lord. Trust Him, believe Him when he says:

John 15:11  says, "I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”

Go to Jesus, accept Him as your Lord and Savior, invite him into your heart. Trust in His goodness and
mercy. For He will never forsake you.

Romans 15:13 says, "May the god of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."  life.
