Gentleness Part 5/7

A Gentle Yoke

We live in a harsh world full of sin and violence. Seeing this or experiencing this daily often creates in us a heavy heart. Jesus knows this, He is well acquainted with the troubles of this world. He says in Matthew 11:28, “come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

In Matthew 11:29, He is inviting us to partner with Him to let his gentle and humble heart renew our heavy laden ones. By doing this, Jesus then tells us we will find rest for our souls.

We have a God with a gentle heart who is inviting us into relationship with Him to make our hearts look more like His. My prayer is that to find rest for your soul, you will accept the invitation the Lord has freely given.
